Tuesday, January 31 is a special day for staff, physicians and volunteers at the North Bay Regional Health Centre (NBRHC). It marks exactly one year since our new state-of-the-art hospital opened for patient care.

The NBRHC Board of Directors is pleased to announce it has received the letter of approval on the sale of the old Scollard and McLaren hospital sites from the Ministry of Health and Long Term Care as required under subsection 4(4) of the Public Hospitals Act. The sale is scheduled to close on January 9, 2011.

The NBRHC Board of Directors has accepted an offer of purchase for the Scollard and McLaren sites of the former North Bay General Hospital. The Board is now awaiting approval from the North East Local Health Integrated Network (NE LHIN) and the Ministry of Health and Long Term Care (MOHLTC) to proceed with closing the sale.

Today 789 participants and volunteers of the 5th annual Our Hospital Walk/Run helped raise over $100 thousand dollars for the North Bay Regional Health Centre.

Today the Seeing More Clearly Campaign Cabinet and North Bay Regional Health Centre Foundation announced they have raised $5 million of the $6 million community target needed for the $10 million investment in our district's Diagnostic Imaging needs.
