Overview
The Diabetes Centre is a member program of the Northern Diabetes Health Network and is administered by the North Bay Regional Health Centre.
The purpose of the centre is to provide assessment, education, support and counselling to individuals with diabetes and their families in a multidisciplinary outpatient setting.
Education, provided by appointment, includes individual consultation with diabetes educators (nurse and dietitian), group education classes, and diabetes awareness presentations. The centre also provides insulin pump education and support.
The full time service at the North Bay Office provides a Pediatric Diabetes Team consisting of Pediatricians, Nurse, Dietitian and Social Worker, as well as referral centre for diabetes and pregnancy.
